Met Gala 2025: Rihanna Stuns in Corseted Look, Announces Third Child

2 Mins read

Rihanna confirmed she is pregnant with her third child at the 2025 Met Gala, making headlines with a dramatic and stylish reveal. The superstar arrived late to the event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5, and proudly displayed her baby bump on the iconic steps.

Rihanna’s Met Gala appearance was highly anticipated, especially after she missed last year’s event due to illness. She made her entrance just after 10 p.m., long after most guests had arrived, ensuring all eyes were on her. Her unique take on the “Tailored for You” dress code—a suit-inspired dress hugging her baby bump—was widely praised by fashion critics and fans alike.

Earlier in the evening, Rihanna was photographed at the Carlyle Hotel in a fitted two-piece Miu Miu set, showing her growing belly before heading to the gala. When she finally arrived at the Met Gala, she wore a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble: a grey corseted bodysuit. It was a tailored skirt with a tied jacket bustle, a cropped black jacket and a wide-brimmed hat designed by milliner Stephen Jones. The look was completed with Cartier jewellery and Marc Jacobs heels, perfectly matching the night’s theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

A$AP Rocky, Rihanna’s partner since 2020 and co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, confirmed the pregnancy to reporters earlier in the evening.

He said, ” It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we were cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us “cause we definitely happy, you know.”  The couple, known for their bold fashion and public announcements, already have two sons together, RZA and Riot.

The Met Gala 2025 was co-chaired by A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James as honorary chair. The event celebrated the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which explores the history and influence of Black dandyism in fashion.

Rihanna has a history of making headline-grabbing pregnancy announcements. She revealed her second pregnancy during the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show and her first with a Harlem photoshoot in 2022. This year, she chose the Met Gala, one of fashion’s biggest nights, to share her joyful news.

Rihanna’s return to the Met Gala, her striking Marc Jacobs look, and her pregnancy reveal made her the undisputed star of the evening. Fans and fellow celebrities celebrated her announcement, with many praising her ability to blend personal milestones with high-fashion moments
