KSI first launched his YouTube channel under the user name, “Jidejunior” in 2008. He created the account “KSIOlajideBT” in July 2009.

After he started to earn a steady revenue from his FIFA gaming commentary videos, he dropped out of sixth from his college.

Later, he branched out to vlog-style videos and featured a wide variety of gaming styles in his videos. In 2012, he reached one million subscribers.

Later, he signed with Polaris, a sub-network of Maker Studios.  In October 2013, he became a member of the Sidemen,  a British YouTube group.

Sidemen posts videos of challenges, sketches, and video gaming commentary. in 2017, KSI left Sidemen and started releasing diss track videos about the other members.
