Nothing debuts it’s first “real flagship”. The Phone 3: Check the availability, cost and specifications

2 Mins read

Nothing, a tech firm based in London, has made its first formal foray into the flagship smartphone market with the release of the Phone (3).

The gadget aims to provide a new understanding of what a personal device may be while maintaining the brand’s distinctive design language. The new camera technology on the Phone (3) was created with makers in mind.

It has a 1/1.3-inch primary sensor for better low-light performance, a lossless optical zoom, and full optical image stabilisation for 4K video at 60 frames per second on all lenses.

The brand offers pre-made cinematic looks that are available right out of the box thanks to partnerships with expert photographers.

Glyph Matrix transforms the phone’s back. One of Nothing’s defining features reappears in a different configuration.

The Glyph Matrix, a rear-mounted, programmable micro-LED display, is intended to lessen reliance on the primary screen.

It offers real-time progress indications, caller ID, and alerts tailored to a particular app. Flip to Record and other recent features enable face-down transcription of face-to-face talks with the Essential Space feature.

Performance and specifications

The Phone (3), which is powered by the Snapdragon Gen 4 CPU, offers better performance in image processing, gaming, and AI applications.

More than a day’s use is possible thanks to its 5500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which also supports 15W wireless and 65W wired charging.

The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen has an adjustable refresh rate of 30Hz to 120Hz, 1.5K resolution, and a maximum brightness of 4500 nits (HDR). For eye comfort, it also has PWM dimming at 2160 Hz.

Program: OS 3.5

The Phone, which runs Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.5, has a number of AI-powered capabilities. Flip to Record allows screen-free transcribing; Essential Space provides an AI-organised centre for notes and ideas; and Essential Search is a worldwide smart search bar.

Nothing indicates that it is integrating AI with more thought, seeking to create experiences that are truly beneficial rather than an add-on. The business guarantees seven years of security fixes and five years of Android updates.

Playful tools and features

Nothing has included amusing features through Glyph Toys in addition to useful utilities, such as a stopwatch, digital clock, solar clock, and games like Spin the Bottle.

The Nothing community provided feedback for the creation of some features, such as Leveller and Magic 8 Ball. For developers who want to create extra tools, there is a public SDK available.

The 12 GB + 256 GB Nothing Phone (3) will cost you £799, and the 16 GB +512 GB Nothing Phone (3) will set you back £899.
