Georgina Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo got engaged after dating for almost ten years

2 Mins read

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese soccer player, has finally proposed. On Monday, August 11, the Manchester United star proposed to his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez, who confirmed their engagement by flaunting a huge ring on Instagram. This was the moment of a lifetime.

Yes, I do. In this and all my lives.”

Rodriguez posted a picture with her hand over Ronaldo’s while wearing the oval jewel spectacles in a translated text.

Fans of the Netflix reality series “I am Georgina” are aware that Rodriguez has been waiting for the long-overdue proposal for a long time, leading many to wonder if the moment will arrive.

After over ten years together, the newly engaged pair is embarking on their next chapter.

After making their first public appearance at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich earlier that year, the couple announced their romance on Instagram in May 2017.

Rodriguez is also the stepmother of Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo’s 15-year-old son, and his twins, Mateo and Eva Maria, all of whom are 8 years old. When Bella’s twin infant brother passed away in April 2022, the pair said on Instagram that they went through “the greatest pain any parent can feel .”

The most-followed individual on Instagram, Ronaldo, has yet to comment on their involvement. Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid when the couple first met, and they had been dating for nine years. At the time, he was a member of Real Madrid, a Spanish club.

Two of the five children the Portugal and Al-Nassr footballer has arrived shared with Rodriguez. In April 2022, they welcomed a stillborn baby boy and their youngest daughter, Bella. Ronaldo’s other three children have also been raised with Rodriguez’s assistance.

Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me,” she added.

Kim Kardashian and other well-known individuals have expressed their approval of the engagement announcement on social media.

They wished “as much success in their marriage as he’s had on the football pitch!” by Piers Morgan, who conducted Cristiano’s 2022 interview.

Celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury called it “fabulous news” in her response. In June, Lauren Sanchez-Bezos married Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and declared herself “so happy” for the couple.

Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where the family presently resides. He reportedly earned £177 million ($238 million) a year when he joined the team in December 2022.

Following rumours that the 40-year-old was getting ready to retire, it was revealed in June 2025 that his contract had been extended until 2027.

In a post on X, Ronaldo wrote: “A new chapter begins, Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
