Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announce engagement, soon to get married

2 Mins read

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has announced she is getting engaged to her partner, Travis Kelce. On Tuesday, in an Instagram post, Swift wrote, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”.

Although no wedding date has been announced yet, an offer has been received for catering at the high-profile wedding. In the Instagram post, they jointly declared their wedding. The post is accompanied by photos showing the Kansas City Chiefs Star proposing to the pop sensation, Taylor Swift.

The photos showed the couple embracing and holding their hands, and displaying her diamond engagement ring.

The Instagram post got over 18 million likes within four hours of being posted.

Some fellow celebrities also congratulate the pair, including supermodel Cara Delevingne, the singer Avril Lavigne, and more on Instagram.

In a post on X, Kelce’s team declared, “today is a fairy tale”. The team conveyed congratulations to the couple and further added that the team is very excited to have them as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family.

The US President Donald Trump said that he wished the pair a lot of luck. He added that he thinks Travis Kelce is a great player and a great guy. About Swift, he expressed that he thinks Swift is a terrific person.

Swift also posted a heart on her Instagram story with her song So High School, playing in the background.

During an interview on New Heights, Swift discussed how she and Travis became friends and discussed their life together. The show was co-hosted by Travis’s brother, Jason.

No doubt, Travis Kelce is one of the wealthiest and most marketable athletes in American sports. So, when Taylor Swift engaged with Kelce, Kelce will be marrying into a league of wealth far beyond the NFL.

Kelce was a famous footballer when Swift met him, but Swift’s unique level of fame propelled him into a different orbit entirely. Their bonding was documented in countless videos of Swift celebrating at Chiefs games. Some fan videos revealed how Kelce enjoys dancing along at Swift’s Eras concert tour as it travelled the globe.

Swift has achieved 14 Grammys, including an unparalleled four album of the year trophies.

The two celebrities started dating in 2023 after the pop star performed at Arrowhead Stadium, which is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Kelce declared on the New Heights podcast that at that time, he did not have the chance to meet Swift. Travis revealed that he gave his phone number to her at that show.

Swift appeared in several Chiefs games, including two Super Bowls. Her appearance sparked criticism from NFL fans, as the TV networks showed her on camera frequently, drawing attention away from the match.

Now, the relationship and engagement have captivated the media and created a highly high-profile, sensational couple in sports and entertainment.
