Asda chicken product recalls: Packs of Asda’s own-brand hot and spicy chicken breast slices have been recalled due to an inaccurate use-by date. The 160g cartons of chicken are branded with the false use-by-date of May 30, 2025. The item may be seen on the Asda website and costs £2.94. No other Asda chicken items or other use-by dates are impacted by the recall.
In an online recall notice, Asda stated: “If you have purchased Asda Hot and Spicy Chicken breast slices with a use by date of 30 May, please bring them back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
Customers who have already bought the product are encouraged to contact Asda customer service at 0800 952 0101 if they want to talk to someone.
“Do not eat the above product if you have purchased it,” says a separate caution posted on the Food Standards Agency website. Instead, get a refund by returning it to the store that is closest to you.
In a statement on Tuesday, April 29, the Food Standards Agency said that the supermarket had “precautionarily” recalled the slices of chicken as those packets were revealing an incorrect use-by date. The FSA issued a ‘do not eat’ warning over the item.
If a product has been taken off the shelves, you should also see recall signs in stores. Aldi is recalling its Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter due to a packaging issue in which the label does not mention milk. This is one of the several recall warnings you should be aware of. The recalled potatoes contain barcode 4061463488152 and a use-by date of April 12.
Due to the possibility that they contain tiny fragments of blue plastic, Morrisons was also compelled to recall its brand, The Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages. The 400g pack size of the impact product has a May 1, 2025, use-by date.
Additionally, there was a removal of Baxters Slices Gherkins, Crunchy and Sweet off store shelves due to the presence of mustard in some boxes that was not disclosed on the label. This indicates that anyone who has a mustard allergy may be at risk for health problems from the product.
Moreover, Goodfella’s Stonebaked Thin Garlic Bread packets were recently recalled by Birds Eye due to concerns that they can cause an allergic response.
Additionally, Marks and Spencer’s recalled a few chicken products due to concerns that they might contain salmonella. M&S Southern Fried Chicken Burgers and 2x Chicken Kievs are the subject of the recall notice, which is only applicable to retailers in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
