Joseph Bellamy Missing Case Updates: A missing teen’s body was discovered close to Gloucestershire. Joseph Bellamy, who went missing in December of last year, was discovered on Sunday in Gloucestershire, close to Northington village. The 18-year-old from Caldicot, Monmouthshire, has been officially recognised as the deceased.

The body of a missing youngster was discovered almost three months after he was last seen heading towards the Severn Bridge on his bike. Between midnight and one in the morning on December 3, Joseph Bellamy was last observed cycling towards the M48 bridge from his Caldicot, Gwent, residence.

At the time of his disappearance, the 18-year-old was dressed in light trousers, a black sweatshirt, a black teddy fleece jumper and black high-top Nike sneakers.

According to Gwent Police, the adolescent boy’s body was discovered on Sunday, March 9, close to the Gloucestershire village of Northington. As per the authorities, he was officially identified as 18-year-old Joseph Bellamy, who was reported missing in December 2024.

The body of a teenage boy was found near the village of Northington, Gloucestershire on Sunday 9 March,” a spokesperson for the force said.

“Formal identification has taken place, and he was identified as Joseph Bellamy, 18, who was reported missing in December 2024.”

In an update on their investigation released on Wednesday, March 12, Gwent Police expressed their sympathies to the teen’s family during a “difficult” period.

His family have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. The family of Joseph Bellamy has requested privacy and space during this difficult time.”

On December 3, the young man was last seen on CCTV riding a red bike from his house to the M48 bridge.

According to the Mirror, authorities have found a body in the ongoing search for Sebastian Sailes, a 21-year-old who vanished following an evening out in February.

This heartbreaking finding comes after Sebastian Sailes, a student who went missing, was recently located.

The child had been asked to return home by his mother, Natasha Lee Bellamy, adding: ‘We all need you here with us. Everything can be fixed, and made better. Whatever it is.

Please, please come home to us. We all love you so much. You are wanted by all of your family. Me & you can work things out step by step, side by side. Always here for you, forever Mum.’

“Our family is worried out of their minds for my nephew Joseph who’s been missing since 1 am,” his aunt Demelsa Coleman added at the time.

She wrote to Joseph, saying: ‘We love you so much darling. Your mum, John, Jake, Fred and Frank and ALL of us want you home safe.’

As the hunt for Joseph went on earlier this year, Ms. Bellamy also advised people to “hold on to their loved ones tightly.”

She wrote: ‘We welcome in the New Year of much needed light and hope, as the search for our beautiful boy, Joseph, continues.

‘I finally get why many people are sad and broken during the festive period.. I admit I never understood it, until recently.

‘Hold on to your loved ones tightly, don’t let a day pass without telling them how much you love them.’

In February, the 21-year-old vanished during a night out. Following his departure from the Black Horse Pub on February 27, he was last spotted strolling down Lovers Walk in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Later, on March 3, Wiltshire Police discovered a man in his 70s dead in the River Avon. According to a police spokesperson, the death did not occur under any unusual circumstances: “We can confirm that a man’s body was recovered from the River Avon this morning. His next of kin have been notified, and our thoughts are with them.”

Although official identification is still pending, the family of Sebastian, a missing student from Bristol University, has been notified of this latest development.
