Brandon Williams Received a 14-Month Suspension on a Prison Sentence

2 Mins read

Former Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has received a suspension for his 14-month jail term. He was punished for dangerous driving at a speed of over 160 kmph.

In August 2023, Williams was driving his Audi A3 on the A34 close to Handforth, Cheshire. He was driving at high speed and suddenly his car crashed into the central reservation after colliding with a Ford Fiesta.

And on Friday, he received a suspension of his 14-month prison sentence. Brandon Williams got a driving restriction for 3 years, a two-year suspension from his sentence. He has been given a community order to perform 180 hours of unpaid labour.

In court, it was heard that Williams was seen with a balloon in his mouth; it was nitrous oxide inhalation, known as laughing gas. This case causes trouble to become a Premier League Footballer again. Now, it has been 18 months since he played.

At the time of the accident, Williams was on loan at Ipswich Town. This took place 10 months before Manchester United declared his departure due to the expiration of his contract.

Williams is well-known for being one who financed the nights out and the holidays with his friends during his first five years at Old Trafford. He is a cautionary tale towards the young players who had the world at their feet but had some dangerous influences around them away from football.

Williams said once in previously that a lot of people do care. But a lot of people care because maybe they don’t want to lose the lifestyle they had. He added that so these people are like: C’mon, c’mon.

He also said that at present he is in such a situation and he asks for help from people, but they avoid it. He is confirming that he is learning from the present situation.

The big question is whether he can be seen playing football, and he will be back playing again.

Williams was released by United in the early summer. He confirmed about fallen out of love with the game.  However, he has been training with personal coaches while the charge hung over him.

His friends said that he was always seen as a good-hearted human being. Some people took advantage of Williams’ giving nature. He was often seen in glamorous destinations such as Dubai or Mykonos, where bills can run into the thousands.
