Giants vs Bengals: Sunday Night Football Live Updates, Bengals defeat Giants

1 Mins read

The Week 6 edition of “Sunday Night Football” felt more like strong defensive efforts, and impressive moments from both Giants and Bengals. The Cincinnati Bengals entered “Sunday Night Football’ on NBC with a 1-4 record. they were able to grind out a 17-7 win over the New York Giants.

The two teams had two missed field goals and 10 punts- both from the New York Giants. In the game, all three touchdowns were on the ground- a 47-yard scramble score from Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

A 1-yard rush from the Giants running back Tyrone and a 30-yard run from the Brngals’ Chase Brown taking advantage of cracked run defence.

Burrow said of the winning the game, “Ugly… real ugly”.

It was a much more low-scoring game than initially expected, Bengals going into halftime up just 7-0 before a few extra scores followed in the second half.

With a 17-7 win on the road against the Giants, the Bengals preserved their outside shot at the postseason. This is not because of their commonly high-performance offence. Rather, the win rested on a defence that has usually been the source of the team’s issues.

Following allowing 10 or more points in 75 consecutive games, the Bengals broke the streak while holding New York to points on just one of its 10 drives.

Giants vs Bengals

Giants QB Daniel Jones completed half of his passes while throwing an interception. On the other hand, Bengals QB Joe Burrow was not so comfortable for much of the night, despite entering as one of the league’s most prolific quarterbacks over the preceding months.

Joe Burrow was sacked 12 times in five games, and he was sacked by the Giants four times Sunday alone. Yet Burrow made probably Sunday night’s key throw with 2:12 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Burrow finished the game 19 of 28 for 208 yards, without any passing touchdowns or interceptions. Daniel Jons was 22 of 41 passing for 205 yards with one interception.

Joe Burrow and Co. finally won their second game of the 2024 season, taking down the Giants 17-7 on Sunday Night Football.

Joe Borrow arrived a top speed of 19.86 mph on his 47-yard touchdown run. It is the fastest play of Burrow’s career.

New York’s defence will be happy with how it completed, however, the offence continued to be disappointing.
