Heartstopper’s Star Kit Connor Admits He Wouldn’t Sure about The Season Four

1 Mins read

Kit Connor, a 20-year-old actor, is best known for his role as Nick Nelson in the TV adaptation of Alice Oseman’s hit graphic novel Netflix series Hearstopper.

But in a recent interview, he conveyed that he wasn’t sure whether the show would return following the conclusion of season three or not.

Connor said he would like to “do something completely different” in future roles. He said, “I’d like to take a little break just so that I can cleanse my mind and my palate. I want to try and spend the next couple years just doing quite hard stuff so I can try and force myself to get better.”

He said to a Hollywood Reporter that he has tried to be more “ballsy” with his career decisions following the success of Heartstopper.

Connor’s performance in Heartstopper has been widely praised, and he earned the inaugural Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Performance.

Currently, Connor focuses on diversifying his career and starring in a Broadway adaptation of Romeo + Juliet alongside Rachel Zegler and aims to take on more challenging roles in the coming years.

He said, “It’s been what I’ve been trying to do with my career decisions recently; just try and do things that are a little more ballsy.”

Kit Connor shares his insights following the success of Heartstopper’s third season. His character, Nick Nelson, faces some challenges of moving on from school life alongside his boyfriend, Charlie Spring, played by Joe Locke.

This season also featured some notable guest stars like Hayley Atwell and Jonathan Bailey.

Connor’s acting career began at a young age with minor roles in various television shows and films. He gained further recognition for his portrayal of teenage Elton John in Rocketman (2019) and has voiced characters in the series His Dark Materials (2019-2022).

His transition to theatre with Romeo + Juliet marks a significant step in his career, showcasing his desire to explore different facets of acting beyond television.

In interviews, Connor has shared his thoughts on being perceived as a role model due to his character’s positive traits.

Additionally, he has opened up about personal challenges, including dealing with public speculation about his sexuality, which he addresses by coming out as bisexual in 2022.

His journey reflects a blend of youthful ambition and the complexities of growing up in the public eye.
