Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley divorced after 13 years of marriage

2 Mins read

Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley separated after 13 years of marriage. On Tuesday, the news was revealed by the TV hosts, who have been wed since 2012. They said together in a statement: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected.

“There will be no further comment.”

This Morning host Deeley, 48, was married to businessman Mark Whelan for five years before marrying Kielty, 54. In 2006, they got divorced.

Kielty, a Northern Irish comedian and presenter, split from Irish model Amanda Bryam in 2003 after a five-year, high-profile romance. Before falling in love, Deeley and Kielty had been friends for years. They co-hosted Fame Academy for two seasons in 2002 and 2003.

The couple got married in a ceremony in Rome in September 2012. Together, they have two kids, one born in June 2018 and the other in January 2016. After more than ten years in Los Angeles, the couple recently relocated to North London.

From 1998 to 2002, she began her career by making an appearance on SM: TV Live with Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin.

Following a number of hosting positions in the UK, including replacing Matthew Jelly on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes, she relocated to the US to host the 2006 season of So You Think You Can Dance, for which she was nominated for five Emmys. In 2023, Kielty replaced Ryan Tubridy as host of the RTE discussion show The Late Late Show.

Cat, who spent more than a decade living in Los Angeles, has been hosting ITV’s This Morning with Ben Shephard since the beginning of the year.

From 1998 to 2002, she appeared on SM: TV Live with TV combo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly and hosted the US series So You Think You Can Dance.

She formerly co-hosted the BBC singing competition Fame Academy and replaced Matthew Jelly on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes.

In 2023, Patrick, a 54-year-old Northern Irish presenter, succeeded Ryan Tubridy as host of the RTE talk show The Late Late Show in Ireland.

The previous year, he made his feature film debut in Ballywalter, which is named after the Northern Irish town in County Down, where he played a young comedian going through a divorce.

Cat did not attend Patrick’s mother’s burial in Northern Ireland in March of this year. A distraught Patrick was seen in heartbreaking photos carrying her casket through the streets.
A representative informed the Mirror at the time that Cat had stayed at home to look after their small sons. They stated: “Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day.”
