Atlanta rapper Young Scooter is said to have died. Following an altercation in the 200 block of William Nye Drive SE, 39-year-old Kenneth Bailey was transported to the hospital, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, an incident in Atlanta’s 200 block of William Nye Drive SE resulted in the hospitalisation and death of 39-year-old Kenneth Bailey. The stage name of Bailey is Young Scooter. The news of his passing on Friday night was also reported by other sources.

On Friday, cops responded to a conflict involving a weapon, according to APD Lt. Andrew Smith. According to early reports, a woman was pulled back inside the scene after gunfire, he said.

“Once officers arrived, they knocked on the door. A male opened the door and immediately shut the door on the officers,” he said. APD then set up a perimeter at the scene, Smith added.

“During the process of establishing the perimeter, two males fled out of the rear of the house,” he said. “One male returned to the house. The other male jumped over two fences as he was fleeing. When officers located him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered an injury to his leg.” APD said he was taken to the hospital and died.

“Just to be very clear, the injury that was sustained was not via the officers on scene. It was when the male was fleeing,” he added.

The medical examiner’s office stated that Bailey had passed away due to the injury, but APD did not verify the man’s identity. The APD reaffirmed that none of their officers fired shots.

11Alive is investigating the issue further. The reason and manner of death are still unknown, according to the medical examiner’s office. They have not yet finished an autopsy.
