Boots has issued an urgent recall for a popular Christmas gift set, the Radley Cosy Up Ribbed Socks and Ceramic Mug Gift Set, due to safety concerns.
The recall affects products sold between August 30 and December 6, 2024, and has sparked significant concern among customers who purchased these items as holiday gifts.
The Radley gift set, which includes a ceramic mug and cosy socks, features a two-tone design with the Radley logo displayed on the front. The report indicates the ceramic mug can crack and operate during use, potentially leading to hot contents spilling.
However, this defect raises safety concerns, particularly during the festive season when many consumers are purchasing gifts for loved ones.
The retailer warned, “We have been informed of a potential safety issue with the mug in this set. In some instances, the base of the mug is cracking and separating when in use; therefore, this product is being recalled.”
“The safety and well-being of our customers are very important to us, so we’re asking that you stop using the mug and return it to your nearest Boots store at your earliest convenience for a full refund.
If you’ve bought this product for someone else, you must let them know about this as soon as possible.”
Broosts apologized to the customer for any inconvenience; they added, “If you do have any concerns or need any further advice, then please contact SLG Bands Limited at 08000590157 between 8 am and 6 pm.”
Broosts has emphasized its commitment to customer safety. A spokesperson for the company stated, “We take product safety very seriously and are taking immediate action to ensure that our customers are informed about this recall.”
This comes as another stocking filler sold on Amazon was recalled as it comes with a ”serious risk of injuries and choking.” The retailer encouraged customers to check their purchases against the recall notice and return any affected items.
In addition to addressing this specific recall, Boots is likely reviewing its quality control processes to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As consumer safety remains a top priority, retailers like Boots need to maintain transparency and responsiveness in handling product issues.
The recall of the Radly Cosy Up Ribbed Socks and Ceramic Mug Gift Set serves as a reminder of the importance of product safety during the busy holiday shopping season.
As customers navigate their gift-giving choices, awareness of potential hazards is crucial. Boosts are taking steps to rectify this situation while ensuring that customer safety remains at the forefront of its operations.
