What is London Cable Car?

Ride The Cable Car

The London cable car officially known as ‘The Emirates Air Line‘, is a type of cable car that crosses the River Thames in East London.

It travels between The Royal Docks near Canning Town and the Greenwich Peninsula. These are two of the most active areas in London’s regeneration.

The infrastructure of the London cable car is designed by London-based Wilkinson Eyre architects. The London cable Car was inaugurated in June 2012.

The London cable car lifts passengers up to 90 meters above the River Thames. It is a 1.1 Km travel, so you can discover a unique panoramic view of the city along with some of the capital’s most iconic buildings and attractions

The London Cable Car is completely accessible to wheelchair users. Moreover, thanks to four panoramic lifts equipped with Wittur hydra-framed automatic glass doors, you can enjoy step-free access in both terminals.

What Does London Cable Car Offer?

I went with my 10-year-old daughter, and I know that cable car riding will be very exciting for her. However, she loved the London cable car ride.

The London Cable Car offers a unique panoramic view of London’s skyline, including some of the city’s most iconic buildings, monuments, and attractions.

London Cable Car offers views of London’s great landmarks such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, Canary Wharf, The O2, The Shard, The Thames Barrier, The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and Maritime Greenwich.

The London Cable Car is a leisure attraction for the Londoners as well as the tourists. You can also hire a private cabin for groups of up to 10 people.
