RB Salzburg 0-3| Real Madrid: Player Evaluations as VinĂcius Junior Advances the Team to the Club World Cup Round of 16

2 Mins read

Real Madrid easily defeated RB Salzburg 3-0 to advance to the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16. At Lincoln Financial Field, Real Madrid and Salzburg squared off for the top spot in Group H.

Similar to their last Champions League encounter, in which Los Blancos defeated the Austrian team 5-1, the Spanish powerhouses had a lot of success in the first half.

After dominating possession and controlling the game’s tempo, Xabi Alonso’s team appeared to wait for the opportunity to score the game’s first goal.

Viñicius JĂșnior completed his run with a left-footed goal into the net after Jude Bellingham sent a beautiful ball into his stride from deep in his half.

VinĂcius JĂșnior scored eight minutes earlier, and just before halftime, the Brazilian ran into the area again to set up Fede Valverde’s goal. Real Madrid had a decisive 2-0 lead going into the tunnel.

Salzburg had several chances to rally in the second half after the Spanish powerhouses lifted their foot off the throttle, but Thibaut Courtois held firm.

Gonzalo GarcĂa scored his second goal in three starts under Alonso as Real Madrid quickly went to the races in transition. Real Madrid now leads Group H after the 3-0 victory, and Alonso’s team will now play Juventus in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup.
