Following an overnight stabbing at his house by an intruder, well-known Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has had surgery and is safe, according to his team.

Khan lives with his family in a posh suburb of Mumbai, India, where the incident happened early on Thursday morning.

After a fight took place between the actor and an unnamed individual who broke into his home after midnight, city police reported that the actor was hurt. To look into the situation, police have assembled teams.

Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital, where Khan is being treated, told reporters following the procedure that the actor “sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine.”

“A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team,” he said.

Mumbai police deploy 20 teams to apprehend the attacker Saif Ali Khan

According to officials, Mumbai police have organised 20 squads to find and apprehend the burglar who stabbed Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan in his flat in the exclusive Bandra neighbourhood. They are also using their informer network to find him.

According to police, they are looking at CCTV footage of the building that shows the intruder, who was carrying a long Hexa blade and a wooden stick, running away following the incident that occurred during a “burglary attempt” in the flat in the “Satguru Sharan” building.

After receiving six stab wounds, including one to his neck, the 54-year-old was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in the early hours of Thursday for emergency surgery and was declared safe. The juvenile suspect’s face was seen in the 2.33 am video.

He is seen going down the steps on the sixth story of the building while sporting a red scarf and a brown T-shirt with a collar.

According to an official on Thursday, in addition to Khan, a 56-year-old staff nurse at the residence, the complaint Eliyama Philip, and a domestic assistant were also injured by blades.

Another official stated that to capture the attacker, probe teams are also depending on technical assistance and the assistance of informers.

According to police sources, the intruder may have entered the actor’s flat covertly to rob him, but he did not break in or force his way in. The assailant fled down the steps and is still at large.

According to Philip’s police statement, the burglar initially entered the room of Saif and Kareena Kapoor-Khan’s younger son Jeh and, upon being confronted, demanded Rs 1 crore.

Armed with a long Hexa blade and a wooden staff, the man shoved her away as she hurried to pick up the infant. Khan and Kareena fled their room as soon as they heard her cry. The intruder then used a knife to attack Khan.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, an actress, has asked the media and photographers to stop their “relentless speculation” about the tragedy and thanked their followers and well-wishers for their love and care.

“It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage,” she wrote on the social media platform.

“While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family,” Kareena added.
