Coco Gauff plays in the Australian Open: Is the Australian Open on TV Channel? And how to watch online?

2 Mins read

With the season’s first grand slam brimming with story, the Australian Open begins another tennis year. Both World No. 1s, Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka, are returning champions and are expected to win again.

Jannik Sinner is the defending champion in the men’s division, and Aryna Sabalenka is vying for her third consecutive Australian Open women’s title.

But the opponents will be tough, with Coco Gauff hoping to capitalise on her strong play and win a second major championship and Carlos Alcaraz getting ready for his maiden attempt at the career grand slam.

There will be a lot of talk about Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray’s new collaboration, but the 10-time Australian Open champion, who is only seeded seventh in the competition, will have a tough draw.

Jack Draper will spearhead the British charge as he attempts to build on his run to the US Open semifinals, and Emma Raducanu will try to improve on her Billie Jean King Cup successes.

The tennis community is also anticipating Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray’s well-publicized collaboration. At the end of the 2024 season, Djokovic, who is aiming for a record-breaking 25th major, welcomed old rival Murray to his coaching staff.

The opening round of the 2025 Australian Open starts on Sunday, January 12 and lasts for 15 days, ending with the men’s singles final on Sunday, January 26.
