2 Mins read

Celebrity Traitors UK is set to premiere in autumn 2025, bringing a star-studded lineup to the popular psychological game show format. Filming began in April 2025 at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, with Claudia Winkleman returning as the charismatic host.

Claudia Winkleman, who has hosted the original series, will return as the presenter for this celebrity edition. Her presence promises to maintain the show’s signature blend of suspense and entertainment, and her much-talked-about fashion choices.

The cast boasts a diverse and impressive group of celebrities from various fields, including entertainment, sports and broadcasting. Confirmed participants include :

  • Stephen Fry, renowned comedian and presenter
  • Tom Dale, Olympic diver
  • Kate Garraway, ITV presenter
  • Clare Balding, sports broadcaster

  • Alan Carr, comedian
  • Tameka Empson, actress from EastEnders
  • Joe Marler, rugby star
  • Bob Mortimer, comedian

  • Ruth Codd, actress

  • Niko Omilana, Youtuber

The show will follow the same psychological game format as the original, where contestants are divided into “Traitors” and “Faithful.” The Traitors secretly work together to eliminate the Faithfuls while the Faithfuls try to identify and vote out the Traitors.

The celebrity version is expected to add an extra layer of intrigue as participants are motivated not only by the prize but also by their public image and reputation.

BBC’s head of entertainment, Kalpna Patel Knight, expressed excitement about the new series, highlighting how The Traitors has become a standout and how the celebrity edition will elevate the experience for viewers.

She noted the thrill audiences will get to watch celebrities outwit and outplay each other in this high-stakes mental game.

Production is underway at Ardross Castle in Scotland, the established location for the series, which has been booked through 2030 to accommodate future seasons. This ensures fans can look forward to many more years of the show and Claudia Winkleman’s hosting.

While the official air date has not been announced, the BBC expects to release Celebrity Traitors UK in the second half of 2025, likely in the autumn. The show promises a mix of suspense, drama and entertainment, making it a must-watch for fans of reality competition and celebrity TV alike.

Celebrity Traitors UK is poised to be a major television event in 2025. It will combine celebrity glamour with the intense psychological gameplay that has made The Traitors a success. When the series airs later this year, viewers can look forward to intriguing mind games, unexpected alliances and plenty of drama.
