Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Finals 2025: Schedule, How and Where to Watch

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 first semi-final started in Switzerland’s Basel on Tuesday, May 13. In the two-part semi-final, 37 countries are taking part. The next part has been scheduled on Thursday, May 15. 

According to a news report, the top 10 countries from each of the two semi-finals will be selected for the Eurovision Grand Final. The Eurovision Grand Final is scheduled for Saturday, May 17. 

In the finals, 26 countries will perform, and looking forward to the Eurovision champion 2025. Among all, there are the top five nations will be taking part in the contest, including France, Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain. They already achieved a guaranteed spot in the final. 

Apart from these top five countries, the host country, Switzerland, has secured a high position in the competition because of Nemo’s victory in last year’s event. 

In the first round semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, 10 songs will be chosen for the Grand Final from the 15 participants. And, in the second round semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, 10 songs will be selected for the grand final. among 16 participants. 

In the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, a total of 26 participants will be taking part, 15 from the first round semi-final and 16 from the second round semi-final. 

The first semi-final round of the contest got underway at 8 pm (local time) on May 13. Italy, Spain, and Switzerland have automatically qualified for the Grand Final round. 

The second semi-final round of the contest will be from 8 pm onwards on May 15. The second semi-final will be on BBC One, iPlayer, Radio 2, and BBC Sounds. UK Eurovision 2025 is on BBC iPlayer. The semi-finals feature commentary by Eurovision experts Scott Mills and Rylan. Sara Cox and Richie Anderson are steering proceedings on BBC Sounds and Radio 2. 

Michelle Hunziker, Hazel Brugger, and Sandra Studer are the expert hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. These three will take part in the Grand final, while Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer will host the Eurovision semi-finals.

France, Germany, and the UK automatically qualify for the Grand Final. Audience of these three countries can cast their vote during this Semi-Final round.
